​​Born amidst the vibrant beats of Brazil, Blue Mar's musical DNA is inherently infused with the soulful essence of Brazilian music. In the ever-evolving landscape of alternative music, his genre-defying compositions effortlessly meld elements of indie rock with the infectious groove of samba and Brazilian sounds. His previous work 'HURL' and 'The March Hare' earned praise from publications such as American Songwriter, Broke Magazine and Culture Collide.

"OLIVEIRA" out on October 11th reflects Blue Mar's deep connection to his heritage and pays tribute to the artists who have paved the way before him. Whilst still carving out a unique space in the alternative music scene. Despite the challenge of originating from South America while predominantly performing in English, Blue Mar embraces his displacement as a catalyst for reconnecting with his roots. He artfully combines instruments from his upbringing with the music he admires, resulting in a captivating blend of gritty guitars and subtle nuances of Brazilian sounds.

 

The album was produced by Blue Mar and Pedro Serapicos, mixed by Craig Silvey, and mastered by Matt Colton. Mar will be performing an album release show at Rough Trade Berlin on October 19th, followed by a European tour!
